Reflections, Gratitude and Focus in our 50th Year

The 50th Anniversary of Garman Builders is a time to reflect upon the past, plan for the future, and cement a legacy of gratitude. One of the sustaining forces of our growth and success has been community: the community amongst our employees and contractors, the partnerships with companies with whom we rely, the homeowners we continually welcome into the extended Garman family, and the towns in which we work, build, and serve. 

Building Upon The Strength of Our Communities

Thanks to you and these communities, we've achieved a great deal beyond building homes in our five decades. Our Garman family is continually humbled by and grateful for the enthusiastic support of the causes we've championed through our charitable foundation, Garman Gives. This tradition was set in motion by Ivan and Charmaine Garman, who among other things, visited five South American countries to help build homes and do mission work in the early years. 

In more recent years, our ongoing and past fundraising events include an annual community BBQ hosted at our Lititz headquarters that benefits a different area non-profit each year, soliciting and matching donated funds for the Wounded Warrior Project, and donating time, materials, and money to Habitat for Humanity. In 2022, we're celebrating our milestone anniversary by giving $50,000 back, through donations of $5,000 each throughout the year, to organizations that support and serve at home and abroad. 

Garman Gives in April to LifeSong: Ukraine Relief

Throughout the month of April, Garman is supporting LifeSong, an organization providing relief directly in Ukraine. For Jason Garman, the connection to Ukraine is personal, as a few years ago he and his wife Noel adopted two Ukrainian children. Garman Gives will donate $5,000 to this relief effort, with Jason and his family adding an additional $5,000 to that amount. These funds will directly support vulnerable children and families with basic resources like food, shelter, and medical supplies. In addition to these necessities, LifeSong is engaged in urgent evacuation efforts and support for Ukrainian refugees. Learn more about LifeSong here.

Looking ahead to May, Garman Gives will direct its fundraising efforts to Align Life Ministries. Align Life offers support and counseling services to people in vulnerable situations related to pregnancy. Align Life works within the community by reaching clients through locations in Lancaster, Columbia, Ephrata, and Lebanon.
