Garman's Strategic Giving Impacts Our Community
April 3, 2025
Garman Builders, a leading home builder in South Central Pennsylvania, is proud to celebrate a major milestone in our ongoing commitment to giving back. Through our charitable initiative, Garman Gives, we’ve donated over $600,000 to support dozens of nonprofits and educational organizations as part of Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program.
This program allows our contributions to be directed toward nonprofit organizations recognized as Educational Improvement Organizations (EIOs) and Scholarship Organizations (SOs)—groups that directly impact students and educational access. We also support organizations participating in the Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit (OSTC) program. These contributions fund scholarships, educational programs, and community enrichment efforts—all aligning with Garman’s purpose of building homes, communities, and meaningful connections.
What Is the EITC Program?
The EITC program allows Pennsylvania businesses to partner with the state to support education through tax-credit-eligible donations. Companies accepted into the program can contribute to a wide range of approved organizations—schools, scholarship programs, social service nonprofits, and even the arts—and receive tax credits in return.
While Garman supports many worthy groups, some of the top recipients of our EITC contributions include:
- Big Brothers Big Sisters – Capital Region
- Lancaster County Career and Technology Foundation
- Power Packs
- Thaddeus Stevens Foundation
- Warwick Education Foundation
- Fulton Theatre
- PA Breast Cancer Coalition
- Regional education foundations and community libraries
“Through our partnership with the state, Garman can direct funds toward meaningful organizations and causes that improve access to education and support innovative programs that strengthen our communities,” said Jason Garman, Co-Owner of Garman Builders. “The EITC program is a win-win-win scenario that benefits students, families and individuals in the communities where we build. It’s fantastic to be part of a program of this magnitude.”
Giving Beyond the EITC Program
Garman Builders’ community impact goes beyond EITC contributions. We’re proud to support a wide range of local organizations through direct donations. These include:
- Central PA Food Bank
- Schreiber Pediatric Development Center
- Brittney’s Hope
- Special Olympics of PA
- United Disabilities Services
- Align Life Ministries
- Habitat for Humanity
- Water Street Mission
- Lebanon Rescue Mission
- New Home Ministries
- Lititz Rec
- The Warwick Hub
- Men of Iron
- Local libraries and dozens of fire companies across South Central PA
At Garman Builders, giving back is more than a program—it’s part of who we are. We believe that building homes also means building stronger communities, and we’re honored to support organizations that help make that possible.
